On 31st October 2015, an air of spirituality filled AlHuda International School. This time a combined event, the Qira’at competition and Hifz convocation was held with reverence and zeal at the H-11 campus, Islamabad.
Esteemed Qurra from all over the country including: Qari M. Siddique, Qari Amjad and Qari Abdul Haye were invited to serve as judges for the competition. The Chief Guest was none other than the renowned journalist Dr. Fuwad Ahmed Yusuf Nasaar from Palestine.
The competition began with a beautiful recitation of the Qur’an followed by opening remarks from the judges detailing the selection and judging criteria. Students, divided into eleven categories from Primary, Secondary, Productive Evenings and Hifz sections, exhibited amazing talent. Beautifully decorated, the hall catered segregated seating for both mothers and fathers and echoed with nasheeds and tilawat recited in the most beautifully gifted voices whilst fulfilling the purpose of strengthening our love for the Qur’an. The winners were awarded certificates.
The competition was followed by an inspirational and touching ending with the The Hifz Convocation. The ‘huffaaz’ were absolutely ecstatic to have completed the memorisation of the Qur’an after such an intense time of focus, commitment and discipline in the AIS hifz program. They were thrilled to share their happiness with such a huge audience upon receiving their shields of completion. Family and friends overwhelmed with joy, joined the audience with glorifying Almighty Allah, humming takbeer over and over. And now ultimately await their reward from Only Allah (swt).
It is indeed wonderful to share with you that three of our young Qur’aa were also awarded the prestigious “sanad” by the Wafaq al Madaris as Salafia along with shields and certificates by the school. Remaining nine Hufaaz were also awarded with shields and certificates by school. The assembly was also blessed to listen to the Qur’anic recitation by Qari Amjad and Qari
Muhammad Siddique. The event concluded by a dua in Arabic by Qari Muhammad Siddique.
May these ‘Hamil Al Qur’an’ (the carriers of Qur’an) retain their ilm and more importantly make it an integral part of their life by understanding and implementing its teachings.
Allah (swt) Himself says about His Book:
قُلْ بِفَضْلِ اللّهِ وَبِرَحْمَتِهِ فَبِذَلِكَ فَلْيَفْرَحُواْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِّمَّا يَجْمَعُونَ
“Say, in the bounty of Allah and in His mercy – in that let them rejoice; it is better than what they accumulate.” [Yunus: 58]
