Counting, Spending, Saving- AM Maths Activity

Counting, Spending, Saving- AM Maths Activity

Among many other basic life skills, Money Handling is an important one which can be taught to children as soon as they learn counting.
Our Students of Advance Montessori (F-8 and H-11 Campus) were introduced to the concept of ‘Money Handling’ and acquainted with different forms of Money.
They were familiarized with coins, paper money and the value of money. Later the students were taken to the School cafeteria to purchase items of their choice from the small amount of money they had brought from home. This activity helped our little explorers understand the concept that things cost money. They learnt how much money would be needed to purchase an item, how to count the change and spend it where needed. Such Mathematical activities help children in developing their mental math, problem solving skills and analytical skills.
Students loved this activity and enjoyed adding and subtracting the amount of money.
