KHI: Healthy Food with Junk Food

The benefits of eating healthy food is obvious. It helps a person lead a productive and healthy life. But for children we have to be creative enough to attract them towards nutritious food. Our students of Advance Montessori were engaged in an interactive way of making their own Fruit Shashlik Sticks. Students really enjoyed getting their hands on the colourful fruits peeling, cutting and putting them in the skewer sticks. Each student made a different pattern thus using his/her own creativity and imagination. They also loved sharing their handcrafted skewers with their teachers. In relation to the same topic the students differentiated between healthy and junk food by colouring, cutting and pasting pictures in their culture books. The activity not only created awareness of eating healthy among the students but also gave them the opportunity to thank Allah SWT for blessing us with fruits that are scrumptious in taste, delightful in sight and healthy to consume.
