Montessori Art Contest – Creating Memories Together

Montessori Art Contest – Creating Memories Together

F-8 Campus

With all the colour pencils, crayons, poster colours, water colours, markers, posters, glitters, formic sheets, crepe papers and other art material laid out, Montessori Section warmly welcomed the excited mommies (sisters, aunts, grandmas) on 17 th January 2017 to the Montessori Art Contest. Mothers joined their zealous young artists to discover together the theme ‘Blessings of Allah (S.W.T)”which was further divided into the subthemes; ‘Colours Around us’ for Junior Montessori, ‘My Favourite Season’ for Senior Montessori and ‘Beyond my Planet Earth’ for Advance Montessori. This turned out to be a jocund experience of creating not just pieces of art but also lovely memories! Participating in an art competition takes courage and it is a way to reflect and polish one’s own talent. Anyone who simply entered the competition was a winner. Alhamdulillah working along with mothers brought confidence in the kids. It was exciting to see young hands filled with paints, busy colouring, cutting and pasting to make wonderful masterpieces based on creativity and collaboration. The mothers had a marvellous opportunity to bond with their children, discuss the themes and come up with some wonderful ideas using the wide range of art materials. The air was filled with glee, joy, creativity and love! The artistry work on the given themewas a reminder of the uncountable blessings of Allah (S.W.T) around us, a moment to reflect and ponder about: وَإِن تَعُدُّوا نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ لَا تُحْصُوهَا ‘And if you should count the favors of Allah, you could not enumerate them.’ [Surah An-Nahl: 18]
