Annual Qira’at Competition 2016 | F-8 Campus

Taking another step of incorporating Qur’an and its love into the lives of our students, AlHuda International School organized Annual Qira’at Competition in F-8 and H-11 Campuses on on 26th and 27th October respectively. Students of grade 1 – 9 were coached by their teachers for improving their Qira’at skills prior to the contest. This event was a follow up of a series of three stages. It began with Stage 1, in which the finest reciters were shortlisted through an in-class competition. These went on to the semi final (second stage). The winners of the semi final round then went on to the third and final round: the Grand Finale’ of the Qira’at Competition. The Chief Judge of the competition was Dr. Qari Zia Ur Rehman, the Imam of Shah Faisal Masjid who is also an assistant professor in International Islamic University Islamabad. Other judges included Qari Abdul Rauf Muhammadi (Principal of Al-Quran Educational Institute Chakshahzad), Qari Salah Ud Din (Khatib of Cadet college Hassan Abdaal and the vice principal of Miliya Islamia School Rawalpindi) and Qari Abdur Rahman. The beautifully decorated hall catered segregated seating for participants’ parents. The pleasant sound of Surah al- Fatihah inaugurated the contest. The judges gave their opening remarks about the competition, detailing the selection and judging criteria. The environment echoed with the sounds of nasheeds and recitations throughout the event. The purpose of this competition was to instill the love of Qur’an among the students and to help them learn the correct makharij while abiding by the rules of tajweed and avoiding mistakes in recitation. The function concluded by the heart melting recitation of Qari Salah ud Din. Later, following the announcement of the results, shields and certificates were awarded to the winners. May Allah (SWT) make us all Hamileen e Qur’an (Carriers of Qur’an) in its truest sense Ameen.

Beautifully decorated hall catered segregated seating for both mothers and fathers of the students. The background sound of Nasheeds and recitation boosted the iman of the audience. The competition was divided into seven categories: Category 1: Grade V and VI (Boys section) Category 2: VII and VIII (Boys Section) Category 3: Grades V, VI, VII and VII (Girls Section) Category 4: HIfz Section (Boys) Category 5: Hifz Section (Girls) Category 6: Grade I’s Category 7: Azan recitals (Boys) Following the announcement of the results, shields and certificates were awarded to the winners.
