Young Explorers on a Nature Walk

Young Explorers on a Nature Walk

Allah created the moon and stars Allah created the sun and flowers! The greater objective of Islamic education is to instill the love of Allah (SWT) in our children. Thus the importance of creating awareness of the attributes of Allah (SWT) is fundamental. His beautiful name ‘Al-Khaliq’ was our new classroom topic which led to a lovely Nature Walk activity to reflect upon the creation of Al-Khaliq. Children were introduced with the idea of knowing and getting closer to Allah (SWT) through His creations. They strolled through the garden holding clear bags in their hands. They keenly watched the minute details of flowers, grass, clay and leaves with a magnifying glass and wondered about the greatness of Allah (SWT). They collected different stones and pebbles, leaves and flowers of their choice as a take away memory to share their experience at home. Children loved this experience of exploring nature. The signs of Allah (SWT) spread all around us are indeed an incredible means for getting closer to Allah (SWT). This activity was carried out in Senior and Advance Montessori in H-11 Campus and in Advance Montessori in F-8 Campus. ‘And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith]. And in yourselves. Then will you not see?’ [Surah Adh-Dhariyat : 20-21]
